Volcanic Caves of Victoria (Natural Bridge)

Natural Bridge Cave (3H-10), Mt. Eccles.

This cave lies at the end of an open lava channel. It formed by roofing of that channel as a result of levee overgrowth - as indicated by the "gothic" cross-section with a roof slot in places where the levees did not quite meet.

This indicates its origin by the inward growth of overhanging levee banks to eventually bridge a lava channel.
